You paid twenty to fifty grand for a website. Then you watched the phone not ring.
My career started in construction as a quantity surveyor, where I learned that nobody pours a slab before the plans are done. From there I moved into marketing and advertising, then became CEO of a software localisation company, working closely with global CMS vendors just as the internet was taking off.
I've seen how websites get built from every side, and most are built back to front. Design comes first. Then someone asks, "So, where's your content?" The owner ends up with a nice-looking site that doesn't win work, and a developer they never hear from again.
If that's you, it's not your fault. That site was never built to bring in customers.
